Ahoy There!

It be true.  The rumors of arrgghhh sails being sighted off the British coast
arrggghhhn’t rumors.  For the third time, Old Blighty be facing a pirate raiding
party called There Be Pirates!, sailing from the vast deserts of California
to plunder, pillage, and, most importantly - party!

In Whitby, nervous eyes gaze out to sea from the ruins of the old Abbey.  Dracula’s
arrival was one thing, this be something else entirely.  In Liverpool,
Staithes, and even London, men look over their shoulders and sniff the sea breeze
cautiously.  Is that the slightest whiff of California desert herbs they sense?
Women call their children in from play and close the shutters.  Uncle Bob,
suddenly takes his job as uncle much more seriously.  The tea kettle is pulled from
the stove quickly, to silence its telling whistle.

In Scarborough, they’re grinning.  They’re toasting each other with Dark n’ Stormies,
washing down the Spam fritters, while up at the Blakey Lion, they’re ordering in more
Old Peculier and stoking up the fire.  After all, There Be Pirates! be on their way...

Aye.  There Be Pirates! be returning to throw a pyrate party the likes o’ which
England has nary seen before.  Take one part traditional sea music, toss in a
handful of desert sand from Cap Rock where Gram Parsons’ soul was sent
heavenward, wash it down with the darkest spiced rum you can find, then add half
a cup o’ Caribbean salamagundi, some dried beef from the bouccaneers of Hispaniola,
a tablespoon or two of Creole Zydeco, a pinch of saucy Parisian cabaret
(the kind with attitude), mix yourself a Hurricane, and then saute it all in a spicy
New Orleans roux and you’ve got the music of There Be Pirates!

There Be Pirates! be planning arrrrgghhhh third UK tour for Summer, 2012.

We be seeking sponsors (rum companies, beer/ale brewers, sailing, southern California, desert businesses, etc.) for the tour from companies or organizations seeking exposure to a very receptive UK audience (we also arrrrgghhhh seeking domestic US sponsors/partners for There Be Pirates!.

We also would like to hear from festivals, venues, community organizations, and private parties in the UK seeking swashbuckling entertainment from California’s favorite pirate jam band - There Be Pirates!, during July/August of 2012.
